Usage based pricing
How do AI credits/month work?
Each plan includes a set number of AI credits that refresh every month. Credits are shared across your team account and consumed whenever Motion’s AI features are used (e.g., AI Chat, AI Docs, AI Employees).
What happens if I run out of credits mid-month? Can I buy more?
Yes. If you use up all your credits, you can purchase additional credits as an add-on to keep AI features running without interruption.
Do unused credits roll over to the next month?
No. Credits reset at the start of each billing cycle and do not roll over.
How are credits calculated?
Credits are consumed per AI request. The exact amount depends on the size and complexity of the action (e.g., generating a draft vs. summarizing a long document).
Where are credits used?
Credits are used across Motion’s AI features, including AI Chat, AI Docs, and AI Employees.
Can I set up limits so one user doesn’t use up all the credits?
No. Credits are pooled at the workspace level and cannot be restricted by user.
What’s the difference between buying more seats vs. buying more credits?
Seats = more users on your workspace.
Credits = more AI usage capacity for your existing team.
Can I add more seats later if my team grows?
Yes. You can add seats at any time, and they will be billed at your current plan’s per-seat rate.
Can I mix plans?
No. Each workspace can only have one plan. To expand, you’ll need to upgrade to a higher tier that fits your needs.
What AI features use up credits?
Credits are consumed whenever Motion’s AI processes or generates content. The amount depends on the size and complexity of your inputs (text vs. image, short vs. long documents) and the outputs produced.
Common features that use credits include:
AI Chat → Asking questions, drafting tasks, or summarizing docs.
AI Employees → Running skills, workflows, or integrations (each run consumes credits).
AI Notetaker → Capturing, transcribing, and summarizing meeting notes.
Document processing → Summarizing, generating, or transforming text inside Motion Docs.
Features that don’t use AI (e.g., manual task creation, scheduling, or project management tools) do not consume credits.
